First of all, the general idea of the resort with the drain from Quebec city that drops you of at the resort and the different animal in the fields and the entire concept is great. The hotel doesnt look like anything else I have seen so fareThe rooms are ok. I had high expectations and sadly the room was not up to my expectation. I was under the impression that flabbergasted by the look of the room and the room didnt live up to my expectations.the paint in the room needed a fresh up touch. On of the lamp in the bathroom was not working. The bathroom fan was covered by a dense layer of dust and the pillows were a bit too soft for me. No other choice of pillow were available. In. Normal hotel I wouldnt mind but considering the price paid I find it inconceivable.The personnel is very friendly and trying to do everything they can to please you. They even took the time to hand write a note to my fiance to congratulate her on the completion of her degree and wish her a happy 30th birthday at the same time. For some reason the entire staff seemed aware of that fact during the entire weekendThe spa is great. They had some technical problem with one of the tubs but it happens. Now the reason why you need to go there is the main restaurant, the Labour. Holy cow ! What a great place. Never had a better diner of my entire life. It s a place to dine at once in your lifeWould give 4.5 but it doesnt exisit
Used to be a hug fan of Germain Hotels and found the one in Charlevoix gorgeous, but last experience was terrible. Multiple mistakes, arrogant and disrespectful attitude from one of the staff, commitment to offering a discount on the whole stay to compensate and then never applied it even though I followed up on it. Sent an email to management of that location and was just invited to contact them personally upon my next visit. A politically correct, careless and useless email...Very disappointing. Germain hotels used to pride themselves in having extraordinary service, but unfortunately it seems like they do not deliver on that at all anymore. On top of it, rooms have not been well maintained and overall quality of food has gone down. They've definitely lost a loyal customer.
I stayed at this awesome hotel when I went to work at G7. I was there with a very large group. The staff at this hotel were awesome people. They gave us rides in their personal vehicles. They brought out blankets, robes and marsh mellows to people sitting around the fire pit. (It was cooler then us BC folk were used too.) The staff bent over backwards to help us and too make sure we enjoyed our stay. And the hotel is pretty neat too. Kind of place you'd take your significant other for a special weekend. If I ever go back to that area, this is where I would stay. The town was also really neat to explore. I gave them four stars because I am not a "foodie," if you are, you will love this place.

Excellent hotel perfect for couples. The on site restaurant has such an amazing selection of food and local beers. Very well priced and by far the best salmon tartar Ive ever had. Service was a bit slow. Sadly there was no room service as well (you would expect there to be in such a high rated hotel). Overall, very satisfied. Will definitely stay again.
